Chanel Cruise 2013
Although this collection is of a bit and miss with its lack of shape and its repetition of past seasons the little girl inside me literary squealed over the influence and use of Marie Antoinette in this collection. Taking on Marie is a hard task without making it look like something you could buy from a costume shop or just too much.
And though there are some examples of it going a little too far into the obvious (Note: the huge lace sleeves) the collection also makes it seem like this Marie went on a little trip to Japan, New York and Paris before heading back to her palace, particularly within the looks that have an almost DIY embellishment and the flatforms that was presented with the M.I.A lead soundtrack.
But the truly best part of this collection is the accessories and beauty. Seriously, that metallic gold bag and the blue and gold bangles? A must have. And the pastel, bluntly cut hair held back with a ribbon combined with the ultra pink cheeks and velvet Chanel symbol cheek decorations pretty much made up for the fact that there was no new must have nail polish in sight.
