South of France Part Une
So after a fortnight in Paris and a quick stopover in Bordeaux for the obvious reasons I made my way south to perhaps the most famous (and arguably overhyped) region of France: Provence. Basing myself in Avignon I spent a week in 38 degrees heat exploring the tiny towns in the area and basically just eating and drinking everything in sight.
The scent of lavender was everywhere and seemed to even overpower the B.O. of the hundreds of tourists. Being a history nerd at heart Arles was definitely a highlight for me so much so that I even ended up having an extremely overpriced lunch in the Cafe Van Gogh.
But probably one of the most memorable moments from this part of my travels is the free almost private tour I got in The Musee du Petit Palais from a lovely museum guard who said I looked like a Botticelli which I was one of the only compliments I got my whole trip (searching my suitcase and spending more than 10 mins getting ready got annoying my second week in Paris).
