She Went Solo

Audrey.

"Only the good die young". Though I really dislike this saying and the context it is usually used in it is especially true when it comes to Audrey Hepburn.  Today would of been Audrey's 85th birthday and although she did live a fairly long life filled of personal and professional triumphs she still died suddenly and at a relatively young age.

As one of the most recognisable faces of Old Hollywood Audrey of course lives on. Most can name at least one of her films and many both within and outside the fashion world are influenced and regularly mimic her very infamous style. Today media outlets, bloggers and people across social media platforms are using today as a chance to revisit her filmography and style but I thought I would take a slightly different route.

Although I do call Sabrina one of my favourite films and dream of her having her wardrobe in Roman Holiday Audrey as stayed my favourite of mine because of her more personal qualities. Graceful, intelligent, compassionate, wise and hugely talented Audrey was more than a beauty and an iconic symbol of femininity but a truly remarkable women who used her influence and power to help others.

So to celebrate what of been a milestone birthday for her I wanted to share some images and videos that not only celebrate Audrey's filmography, beauty and style but also her empathy and charitable nature because, after all, as Audrey herself said "The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's is the caring the that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passion of years"
